To preserve their dominion over the galaxy, the Jirmaken regularly visit the planets of primitive sentients, laying waste to their largest cities and spiriting away many inhabitants to be sold as food, slaves, curiosities, and test subjects.
Such a primitive planet is Earth, where the would-be empires of Babylon, Egypt, Greece, Persia, Rome, China, and more have been ruthlessly cut down, thousands of their people spirited away to dark, unknown fates.
Only tribal cultures thrive. But as generations pass, nomads settle. Encampments become palaces. For centuries, the fierce warriors of Scythia have dominated steppe and plain, mountain and forest. The apocalypses of the past are but half-remembered legends. Even if the past were better preserved, how could anyone know that it was soon to repeat? Since the last Jir devastation, the Scythians have settled, ruling their conquests from a glorious city, Roksinaki.
Arixa, a Scythian of royal blood, has spurned palace life in favor of the old way of ranging the steppes with a war-band. She could not know, but soon would learn, that out among the stars, a rebellion was brewing and that the rebels had made Earth their base. Arixa could not know, but soon would learn, that her next war would be fought not with sword or arrow, but with weapons beyond her imagining.
She could not know, but soon would learn, that to save Scythia, she might have to destroy it.
SCYTHIAN DAWN is an Earth vs. Aliens epic in which bow-wielding riders of the steppe must adapt to fight a high-tech war against a far superior adversary.
