There's been a lot of talk lately among indie authors about a shrinking of royalties in the last quarter, particularly when it comes to ebooks that are exclusive to Amazon through the "KDP Select" program. There are a multitude of theories & explanations, probably most of them at least half-right, but whatever the cause, it's looking like a good idea to "go wide."
Kobo is a Canada-based ebook retailer that's been increasing its market share in the last few years. Going forward, I'll be putting more effort into driving sales at Kobo, which serves about 190 countries worldwide. I've bought a couple of books there, used the app, and I can safely recommend it. My upcoming title Death to the Witch-Queen! will soon go up for pre-order there (and at Apple), with a normal, non-pre-order launch at Amazon.
Athenian Steel is currently free there, and I'd be mega-grateful if you'd go Add it to your Kobo LIbrary. It also needs reviews, so if you've left one on Amazon, I'd be mega-double-plus-grateful if you pasted that bad boy into Kobo! Don't have an account? Kobo offers a $5 credit to new users (good on any purchase $5.01 or higher) to new users, which you can become with about 2 clicks simply by connecting your Facebook or Google account.
So please go download Athenian Steel and pick up that $5+ title you've been wanting!
Happy Thanksgiving & SAFE Black Friday shopping!
